Hope Kids

We aim, as a church and Christian family, to create and live in an environment where children are loved, respected and valued as part of God’s family and ours. We seek to nurture and encourage our children at every stage as they grow, and to teach them the truths of God’s word, the Bible, which is “a lamp to our feet and a light to our path”.

On Sunday mornings, unless it’s a family service, the children move to their respective, age-appropriate groups about half-way through the service. With the curriculum, we aim to promote continuity and coherence, and our core values underpin our beliefs and teaching.

We have, at the moment, a thriving group of about 55 children, 35 of whom are in the Greatham congregation and 20 in Petersfield.

In Greatham the groups are for ages 3–6; 7–11; 12–16. In Petersfield they are for ages 4/5–10; 11–16.

Crèche –

Greatham: Occasionally, we have a family service with the children involved in creative activities. On that Sunday there is a crèche area with toys, where parents can be with their children aged 0–2. On all other Sundays there is a supervised crèche, enabling parents to remain in the service if they wish. The first Sunday service of each month is followed by a shared lunch for all.

Petersfield has a designated creche area, with toys and comfortable chairs, next to the main hall. We are in the process of arranging a live stream speaker so that parents/carers can still hear the sermon, if they wish to use this space. This is an unsupervised area and families with young children are very welcome to stay in the service or use the creche.
